Prozac belongs to a class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It helps to treat mood problems such as depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and panic attacks. It is a pill taken once a day usually in the morning. It is not uncommon to struggle with depression when fighting the battle with chronic pain. Depression can be short lived or last throughout life.

Add your reviewI have used this med for several years now and find this one fo the ones that suits me best with few to no side-effects.
I started using it when I was so depressed about my pain, I found out later it also was keeping my weight down so had to go back on it!! I had been stable weight for years, and gained when I stopped the prozac for a few weeks as I had no money. It is in generic now so it is the cheapest on the market and has fewest side effects of any anti-depressants.
Prozac is the most commonly used antidepressant. I has been around for many years and has been studied extensively. In my opinion prozac has worked best for me and has given me very few side effects to deal with.
ConsAlmost any antidepressant is known to have some type of side effect. Antidepressants affect individuals in different ways and it usually takes trying two to three different antidepressants to find the right one for you. The process of finding the right antidepressant may take up to six months or longer.
